Suspension Manual, Chapter 2: the fork

Right after the tyres, it is the suspension system that does the essential job of keeping our wheels glued to the road and maintaining the correct setup in every driving situation, as well as sending us each bit of feedback coming from the asphalt. The suspension system of our Aprilia bikes is naturally equipped with all the adjusters, manual or electronic, needed to modify its behaviour according to the various situations, uses and prerogatives of each racer. 

About the suspension settings, you’ll hear the widest range of theories: from not very clear interventions of internal modifications on hydraulics, springs and friction materials, which promise miracles (likely only if we’re talking about competitive use on the track) to advice such as “never touch anything, otherwise the fork will no longer work”…
