23 October 2018. Exactly 7 years ago to the day a horrific accident at the Sepang circuit claimed the life of a youngster from Coriano with tousled hair and the stuff that champions are made of, a guy by the name of Marco Simoncelli.
A dark day indeed, especially for us #bearacer club guys and those of the Aprilia Racing Department who had watched Sic blossom and had shared his World Championship triumphs with Aprilia and Gilera.
On this very day we have chosen to remember Simoncelli without any trace of sadness or bitterness, but rather by telling the story of a thrilling day in which Sic starred in the Italian Grand Prix at Imola, riding his RSV4 Superbike, a bike that links Aprilia’s present and future in racing to all of its countless past triumphs and significant events, just like this one…
