Maverick’s first unforgettable podium is the long awaited confirmation in racing of what a good feeling has developed between him and his RS-GP. Concentrated, mean and clean, our number 12 brought home a magnificent 3rd place after counter-overtaking an experienced Miller who tried to pinch the place of honour from him. For just a few seconds, which might have slipped away for some, our two RS-GPs swept down the final metres before the finish line, one behind the other, like we would always like to see them! It was a “double” that did not give the podium to both, but that placed Aprilia in front of everyone in the team rankings and that lets Aleix set his sights on leading the world championship, now just 21 lengths away!…
