The life of a racer is a never-ending up and down rollercoaster ride of emotions, at times extremely positive and absolutely inebriating and at other times bitterly disappointing and totally unforeseen.
The Catalonian GP managed to deliver both, initially getting us all excited and believing that a good result was on the cards for all 3 RS-GPs at the start, and then making us want to tear our hair out in absolute despair.
We watched as Andrea Iannone set a good pace right from the start and began making a determined comeback to reel in the middle-order pack, before finally having to give way to his competitors. A slowdown, probably due to badly worn tyres, put paid to an amazing comeback. In any event, and partly thanks to a number of riders coming off, Andrea eventually managed to finish the race in eleventh spot and earn himself 5 points in the process.
