Just one week on from the third place at Portimão, our own Aleix Espargaró and the Aprilia RS-GP 2022 once again take third place on the podium in the Spanish GP in Jerez de la Frontera!
Some people are starting to get used to it, but not us racers. For those of us who, just a few months ago, could only dream of such a solid performance from the Aleix-RS-GP pairing, for those of us who haven’t stopped counting every tenth of a second shaved off, every point brought home, every position lost and regained: for us, the fun has only just started!
Aleix is like a cobra: he waits patiently and strikes at the right moment, without mercy (there’s no room for mercy in this MotoGP).
In front of the Spanish fans, Aleix put in another solid performance: 3rd on the grid, despite a tough qualification, our no. 41 made up for a somewhat “messy” start – which had relegated him to fifth place – with a masterclass in maturity and composure. Hot on the heels of Marc Marquez and Jack Miller, he calmly waited for an opening for almost the entire race, and when it arrived, on the final lap, our Captain made no mistakes: passing both opponents in one go, reversing our fortunes in a single curve…
