MotoGP Bulletin 10/19: tyres complicate Aprilia’s race in Brno

There’s no point beating about the bush. Sunday was a bad day for Aprilia. At the finish line in Brno, Andrea Iannone came in seventeenth, one place and just a few hundreds of a second ahead of Aleix Espargaró. The good news for the future, however, comes from the performance in the tests and warm up, where our riders went round in the same times as the top ten positions: an excellent sign for the next race.

Aleix had a great start. At the green light the Spaniard took off well, finding himself already fighting to be in the top ten on lap one. Espargaró, however, had to deal with tyre behaviour he hadn’t experienced over the weekend and performance started to dip after a strong spin which forced Aleix to take his foot off the gas, even on the straights. From there, the Catalan rider gradually had to give up positions.
