“You’re a racer whose passion for the “Made in Noale” bikes is this big (you can’t see it but I’m dislocating my arms) and you booked well in advance for your day with the Aprilia Riding Academy at the Mugello Circuit, not just some little go-kart track, but the Mugello no less! Ahead of you lies 8 hours of excitement out on the track and coming to grips with a load of riding theory in the “classroom” in order to perfect your riding skills with the exceptional and super-quick instructors at your side. So, there you are, slap bang in the middle of the perfect day, with your dream bike, learning all the basics and the secrets so that you can become even better at doing what you love to do more than anything else in the whole world, when, at a certain point, slap bang in the middle of an explanatory session, Scott Redding comes walking in through the door. Yes, you heard right! Scott Redding, no less, wearing Aprilia Racing leathers and holding a felt-tip pen in his hand, and you ask yourself if you’re in the wrong pits, if you’re at the wrong circuit or if you’ve simply come on the wrong weekend. Instead, the guy comes towards you and you realise that the felt-tip pen in his hand is not for signing autographs (ok, later on he’ll be using it for that too), but to stand in front of the whiteboard and start reeling off some valuable tips regarding the circuit and answering everyone’s questions, including yours. Then, just 3 minutes after having said goodbye to you, you see him fly past in the pit lane on an RSV4 just like yours but all black and with the number 45 on it, as he goes out to take a few bends on the track, which he proceeds to carry on doing for the rest of the day. Soon it’s your turn to go out there too, and you haven’t yet decided whether to choose the Tuono V4 1100 Factory or the new RSV4 RF for your practical session. Actually, it won’t make any difference whatsoever because Scott is going to fly past you anyway, but at least you’ll be able to say that you sat right on his tail on the Mugello circuit! For a few seconds … or even just a few metres, maybe. Ok, let me dream on just a little … but the rest is all true!
