Iceland Airwaves: Europe’s “coolest” music festival

Imagine a modern city located on the edge of the polar circle. Now flood that city, from the city centre to the outskirts and from the smallest little bar to the big theatres, with five days of concerts featuring some of the best international and local artists, and finally bop to the beat with sixteen hours a day of music and only a few short hours of pale winter daylight: this is what Iceland Airwaves is all about, a multi-genre music festival that has been changing the face of the city of Reykjavík in Iceland since 1999, attracting thousands of visitors from all around the world.

From the 1st to the 5th of November 2017 history will be repeated, promising a top-notch line-up that is an exceptional mix of internationally acclaimed bands and some of the best artists on the Icelandic music scene. Like who, you say? How about Mumford & Sons. But the list is very long indeed and it includes Arab Strap, Sigrid, Michael Kiwanuka and Songhoy Blues, Fleet Foxes, Àsgeir, Billy Bragg, Emiliana Torrini, Mammút, etc. Perhaps you should take five minutes to take a look at the full list at
